Current version: 1.2.4, last update: 7 years ago
First release : 28 Jan 2009
App size: 1.86 Mb

Check the tide before you head to the beach to surf, tide pool or just go for a walk or run. No network connection is required, so you can check anytime, anywhere.

ShralpTide displays the current tide along with the high and low tides for the current day and the next 4 days.

Includes an INTERACTIVE FULLSCREEN TIDE GRAPH in landscape mode. Turn the device on its side then touch the screen to see the tide at any time in the 24 hour window.

ShralpTide 1.2.4 is no longer supported. There are known issues with daylight savings time transitions and inaccurate tide station data. I have made it available for download for those who want more international tide stations and are not concerned with accuracy.

Good news! The crashing issues reported in iOS 7.1 are no longer a problem on iOS 8. So hurry up and upgrade, iOS 8 is a great release.

*** Regarding Tide Station Locations ***

Shralp Tide does not include all of the tide stations in the world. It has good coverage of the US and Canadian coasts as well as Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Beyond that there is spotty coverage of international locations.

As of version 1.1.1, currents will no longer be available in Shralp Tide because they were a source of confusion to those expecting only tides.

Pros and cons of Shralp Tide app for iPhone and iPad

Shralp Tide app good for

Thanks for the great app. I use it every day. Great BC coverage. But please bring back currents, I still havent updated to 1.1.1 because I dont want to lose them. It would be nice to have a favourites list too.
Great big heartfelt thanks to the devs on this one. I fish a lot and this app is perfect. Easy to use, easy on the eyes and with complete coastal coverage of the coast of Quebec. Perfect app!
Great App, so clean and easy to use! Only suggestion for an improvement have sunrise / sunset times also display on main page. Well done.
Great interface. I like the graph. Would like to have the possibility to save favorite locations.
Where we live there is a crappy boat launch that cant be used in low tide. We have found ourselves in trouble a few times but this app lets us plan our trips without worrying about whether we will be able to get back. Thanks!
Lots of locations on Van Is. and the Lower Mainland as well as Puget Sound. Nice easy to use interface.

Some bad moments

Great little app. But how can there be any question for not including currents? An absolute necessity for the many rapids that need to be navigated on British Columbia’s coast... Cheers, Klaus
Times do not appear to be correct. At least not for my location.
Im a experienced commercial fisherman and want accurate tide times for not only fishing but also navigating rapids. This app is insanely un-accurate and dangerous and should not be sold for anyone. Tide times are hours out not minutes.
I downloaded two different tide apps - this one for free and another one for a fee. The data differed wildly between the two so I checked them both against the official govt data. The other app was a tiny bit off but this one bears no resemblance to the true tide data. This app is useless - and dangerous.
For example, searching for "japan" produced no results. Too many countries/tide-stations are missing.
On an iPhone 5s running iOS 7 it just crashes as soon as you open it.
